Interview with SGT Henry L. Gantt
SGT Henry Gantt visited our school with his JROTC student cadets from Lenape High School (see JROTC). He later did a personal interview and faxed us these answers:
1. Why did you enlist into the Army?
- Answer: I enlisted into the United States Army in June 1973. I enlisted in the army primarily for the education benefits, and to serve our country. The Army also afforded the opportunity to travel at abroad at no cost.
2. What does the United States Flag mean to you?
- Answer: Whenever I see the American Flag I see freedom, hope and prosperity. A symbol I am willing to fight for.
3. Do you fly a flag at home?
- Answer: I don't fly the flag outside, but I have a little flag by my bed at home.
