The World's Largest Flag is called the "Superflag". It is a giant American Flag. It's made of cloth and was sewn together in Pennsylvania. A man named Ski Demski had it made. It cost $45,000 to be made. After it was finished, it was delivered to him on his birthday (Flag Day, June 14, 1992).

Superflag made it into The Guinness Book of World Records when it was hung across the Hoover Dam in 1996.

Superflag is 255 feet by 505 feet long. It weighs 3,000 pounds. It is the size of about 2.8 football fields. Each star is 17 feet wide.

The meaning of Superflag is to feel proud to be an American. It makes people feel patriotic.

Ski Demski loved flags. He had flag tattoos on his body. He also had a large Eagle tattoo on the belly. When he was 69, he had a large tattoo of the American Flag put on his back.

He looked a lot like Santa Claus. He dressed up like Santa Claus. He gave out candy to nice kids.

He loved parrots and had some as pets.

Ski Demski died on January 19, 2002. But Superflag lives on. Superflag, and smaller Superflags, can be rented for special events. Superflags have been used at football and baseball games on TV.

(summary by Alison, whose birthday, like Ski Demski's, is also on Flag Day, June 14)
