Students' Reflections about Bassetts Field Trip
|

|
On October 31, 2003 we went to the original Bassetts Ice Cream in Reading Terminal in Philadelphia. We took the Speedline to 8th and Market and then walked to 12th street. We all had to wear sneakers and comfy clothes. When we went to Bassets for ice cream I ordered a specialty cone with rainbow sprinkles. Roger was the manager for the Bassets ice cream store. He was very nice. We saw a man playing the piano at the Reading Terminal. We took a picture with him and gave him a tip. . . . I liked the trip a lot. (Lori)

On October 31, 2003 we went to the original Bassetts Ice Cream in Reading Terminal. It was scary on the train. I had a cookies and cream ice cream in a cup. It's very good.
P.S. The manager, Roger, gave all eleven of us great service as he filled all of our ice cream orders perfectly . Thank you Roger. (a Student)
Our class went to the Reading Terminal in Philadelphia to sample the very first ice cream ever made in the USA! . . . I ordered strawberry ice cream in a cone. It was so good! We ate our lunch after that. The ice cream wasn't the only treat we had. We were very lucky to have a man play piano music for us while we ate. I also enjoyed the ride on the High Speed train from NJ to PA! (Tommy)
On October 31, 2003 we went to the original Bassetts Ice Cream in Reading Terminal. We came on the Speedline. When we got there Sue and I asked Roger the manager of the store a few questions. Some of the questions were how old is the place and what is the least favorite flavor. And some of the answers were 110 and champagne. (Kyle)
We went to the original Bassetts Ice Cream in Reading Terminal in Philadelphia. The Chocolate & Marshmallow on a rainbow sprinkled cone was delicious. We had lunch there and saw a piano man that played great music. Roger is the manager of the original Bassetts ice cream in the Reading terminal. Roger is very smart because he answered a lot of our questions. We danced to the piano man's music and we gave him a tip. (Megan)

On October 31, 2003 we went to the original Bassetts Ice Cream in Reading Terminal in Philadelphia. We took the speedline. I was up in the front seat because Miss Sue was showing me the different stations. It felt good and it was fun going there. I heard the guy playing a piano. I had vanilla ice cream with sprinkles. After eating our ice cream at Bassetts, we walked around and then ate lunch. We sat at tables in the back section of the Reading Terminal Market and enjoyed listening to this piano man as he entertained the lunchtime crowd. We also enjoyed talking to him when he took a break.
